The Marahuyo por la Poesía acknowledge the importance of traditional folk artists and revitalize the artistic traditions of communities. This art exhibit aims to showcase the works of one of Gawad sa Manlilikha ng Bayan Awardee, Ginaw Bilog

The term "marahuyo" is one of the oldest figurative words in the Philippines. The word is an ancient Filipino word that not only means to be enchanted. The term “enchant” means to be enthralled by someone, something, or any concept, and it devotedly represents our genuine admiration and gratitude for Ginaw Bilog. The term “poesía” on the other hand is a Spanish word which literally means “poetry” in English and it represents the notable talent of Ginaw Bilog in poetry. The terms “marahuyo” and “poesía” combined together to build up the “Marahuyo por la Poesía” which can be translated to “Enchanted by the Poetry” giving respect to the works of Ginaw Bilog and his contribution to the Filipino art culture. May this exhibit serve as a bridge for the modern generation to recognize an important aspect of Philippine history that must never be forgotten.
